HONNE – Electro-Soul Duo

HONNE are Andy (vocals/production) and James (production). The British electronic soul duo, now based in London, met at university. While making a living by teaching music at schools, they began to advance their skills in the matter of sound and production.

HONNE is a Japanese word and means ‘true feelings’ (本音) . It describes feelings one shares with someone special, while TATEMAE – the name of their label – is the counterword. It stands for the feelings you share with public. “The label is the public outlet for our personal songs.”, the band mentions. Sensitive, likeable and authentic describes their music as well as Andy and James themselves. The sound is avant-garde and innovative between vintage soul and future pop, which HONNE in person describe as ‘futuristic Soul’. Trending blogs and influencer’s such as UK’s radio host and music superstar Annie Mac pay tribute, while a growing fan community joins HONNE at sold out shows in Europe.

After starting the project in 2015 and four published EPs (‘Warm On A Cold Night’, ‘All In The Value’, ‘Coastal Love’ & ‘Over Lover’) Honne is currently travelling with their new released EP‘Gone Are The Days’, while working on their highly anticipated debut album. Because every end also means a new beginning…
